The NLNG ScholarshipScheme
The Nigeria LNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme started in 1998 as part of Nigeria LNG Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility to Nigerian Citizens to enhance human capacity development. It involves the payment of a yearly Scholarship allowance to beneficiary Undergraduates in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria. 
Beneficiaries are selected through a rigorous and transparent selection process organized in collaboration with the Aptitude Test Department of WAEC. From inception, about 2,500 beneficiaries have benefited from the scheme.
Also, the award has undergone several value reviews from N30, 000.00 at inception to N50, 000.00 and then to its present value of N 100,000.00. 
A total of about 500 million naira has been spent so far on the scheme. At present, this scheme is been reviewed and its scope expanded to cater for three levels: post primary, undergraduate and post graduate studies oversea..
NLNG Cadet Scholarship Scheme
The Cadet Scholarship scheme which started in 2006 with eleven (11) beneficiaries is of the specialized category and entails the facilitation of admission and issuance of scholarship for the training of successfulcandidates from our host communities in the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron. To date, a total of 31 cadets have been on the scheme. 

The scholarship covers all fees for the duration of the programme (2 years) including fees for the mandatory courses.
Each year a total of 100 candidates from our host communities are mobilized to participate in the Maritime Academy entrance examination in various centers across the country. Out of this number, successful candidates are then mobilized for the final stage, which is the interview, and this lasts for a period of one week. 
On average, a total of N30, 000 is spent to mobilize each candidate for theexamination.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brief Description of Duties:
Overview the technical and managerial aspects of the Plant Department, including those of the quarries, stores, asphalt plants and batching plants.
Coordinate the functions, procurement and mobilization/demobilization of Plantfacilities and personnel for various projects.
Provide specialized expertise and advice to the areas of operations on all related Plant aspects.
Coordinate with the Estimating Department for economic plant usage and selectionfor various types of plant application.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 15 years experience in repair, maintenance and management of large road construction fleet of equipment.
At least 5 years experience in similar position with proven record.
Project Engineer (Roads or Bridges works)    
Brief Description of Duties:
Control and coordinate the execution of the work package ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with specifications and crafts standards, specify working methods and interpret specifications and formal drawings as necessary.
Direct the project work and exercise strict control over costs of construction.
Review any variation from the budget expenditures and initiate remedial action as deemed necessary.
Preparation of work progress reports and Certificates of work done.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
3 -5 years experience in same specialization within the constructionindustry.

Senior Plant Engineer    
Brief Description of Duties:
Oversee the full operation of a large workshop including, maintenance, repair, overhauling, trouble shooting and records keeping of Caterpillar, Volvo and general earthmoving equipment.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the workshop personnel and tasks.
Reports to the Plant Manager and follow-up orders of spare parts and ensures maximum utilization of plant machinery.


Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
7 -10 years experience in same specialization within the constructionindustry.
Strong personality and ability to lead, control and co-ordinate workshop activities on managerial and technical levels.

Display a hands-on approach to Drill and Blast design and implementation.

Heavy Duty Mechanic

Able to generate full featurised cross sections; with earthwork quantities; surveysetting out data and to compile mass haul diagrams.
Drainage & Sewerage design:
Is able to do a rainfall analysis and compile rainfall intensities and return periods
Is able to design a drainage network within the road carriageways or in open land.
Is able to load the drainage network and to design the drainage runs, size the pipes.
Generate drainage sections, generate Manhole schedules, pipe schedules and bills of quantities.
Knowledge of one of the following drainage packages is appreciable: Windes ; Wallrus ; Wassp
