Mobil Nigeria (ESSO Exxon Mobil): Postgraduate Scholarship 2012
OVERVIEW
EEPNL, subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Nigeria is in continuation of its efforts to provide opportunities for developing careers in the petroleum industry, Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (EEPNL)
awards scholarships to qualified Nigerian graduates who wish to pursue full time post-graduate Nigerian Universities.

Essential Requirements: 
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree wIth a minimum of second class upper division in any of the Engineering or Geosciences disciplines.
  • Must have provisional admission into an accredited Nigerian University for Post-graduate study (M.Sc or M.Eng) in the 2012/2013 academic session
Applicatons in the underlisted disciplines are considered:

  • Geosciences
  • Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Electronics, Marine, Mechanical, Petroleum and Sub-Sea).

The NNPC/ESSO scholarship award covers tuition, books, accommodation and upkeep expenses for the duration of the selected course of study

Shortlisted candidates will be required to come with the original and a photocopy of the following documents for screening prior to taking the test. 
  • WAEC results
  • Admission letter for postgraduate study
  • Bachelors Degree Certificate
  • Valid Identification Card
  • University transcripts
Names of short-listed candidates for the qualifying test will be published on the scholarship website and in National Dailies. These candidates wilt also be contacted with details of the qualifying test via SMS text and email.

Employees of ExxonMobil subsidiary companies in Nigeria and their dependents are not eligible for this scholarship.

EEPNL, subsidiary of Exxon Mobil is operator of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Oil Mining Lease (OML) 133 and the Erha Project. Its co venturer on the block is Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd (SNEPCO).

Vacancies are created as a result of new project development (new field discoveries) and increases in production volumes (expansion) that require additional employees or as a result of natural attrition; due to retirements, promotions, transfers, resignations, etc.
These vacancies are filled only on the basis of approved formal personnel requisitions. Each department is expected to prepare personnel requisitions indicating the type and number of vacancies it intends to fill. Human Resources (HR) reviews each requisition to ensure alignment with the approved recruitment plan and to determine whether the job can be filled internally.

The NNPC/MPN Joint Venture invites applications from suitably qualified persons into our Apprenticeship Program beginning January 2013.
The Program is designed for young Nigerians with an interest in pursuing an Operations and/or Maintenance Technician career in the oil and gas or related industry.

REQUIREMENTS OF CANDIDATE

1. Only applicants with Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in one of the following disciplines are eligible to apply:
(a) Mechanical Engineering Technology
(b) Electrical Engineering Technology
(c) Chemical Engineering Technology
(d) Petroleum Engineering Technology
(e) Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology

Applicants with higher qualifications should not apply.

2. Applicants must have graduated from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2012, and possess a minimum of Lower Credit.

DRILLING SUPERVISOR
The ideal candidate profile
Candidates should possess a minimum of Bachelors degree with second class upper division (2.1) in any of the following Engineering disciplines – Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil or Petroleum Engineering
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites
Team player with good interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a multi-discipline, multi-cultural environment
Good written and oral communication skills, integrity, zealous, and quick to acquire new expertise through training
Prior cognate experience in rig operations or engineering will be an added advantage
Job Description
Provide day to day on-site supervision of drilling operations and prepare reports to the Drilling Operations Superintendent
Serve as the primary contact with the rig contractor and third party personnel at the rig site to ensure that operations are performed safely and cost-effectively in accordance with the approved well program
Logistical planning and coordination of personnel, equipment, supplies and services to ensure that twenty four hour operations are maintained

Ensure that third party equipment is adequately and properly maintained
Ensure compliance with all government and other appropriate regulations, including education of all rig personnel on safety and related issues
Ensure that well control, marine safety and other drills are held on a regular basis per company guidelines
Ensure that accurate and adequate reports and records are kept regarding operations, equipment and evaluation
Please note that this position entails working offshore on rotation basis for the entire career.
 Responsible for well control, real time drilling optimization, casing tallies, cementing calculations, and completion tallies and spaceout
Organise and order necessary services and equipment to conduct drilling, completion, workover, and testing operations
Responsible for enforcement of approved Safety, Health, Environment and Security procedures to manage operational risks and prevent harm to personnel, environment and equipment

This position offers a competitive compensation and benefit package commensurate with what is obtainable in the upstream oil & gas industry
